An open house celebrated the newly remodeled Village North Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, formerly Village North Health Center. The skilled nursing unit is one of three levels of housing and care available at Village North Retirement Community.

The facility is organized to accept patients like a hospital-based skilled nursing unit. The rehabilitation staff is trained in geriatric care, and has been recognized by Missouri PRO for skin- and wound-care protocol. About 70 percent of their skilled-care patients return home to live independently.

As part of the remodel, Village North Rehabilitation and Nursing Center expanded the rehabilitation gym to better accommodate more patients. New equipment, such as the Lite Gait system, allows Village North to provide more sophisticated physical therapy.
